Leuchars was a renowned maker of dressing cases established in 1794 by James Leuchars in Piccadilly, London.The firm expanded in 1841 taking over premises next door in Piccadilly and the name changed to Lucy Leuchars & Son.The exhibited in 1851 at the Great Exhibition and again at the International Exhibition of 1862 and their dressing cases won a silver medal at the Paris Exposition of 1867. William Jnr. sold the business, including their factory in Sherwood Street to Asprey in 1888 and continued to trade in Piccadilly until 1902.
