Masonic glass, Central Europe, half of the 19th century
Description
Delicate pink (manganese) glass, engraved. Rich Masonic symbolism is displayed on the surface: a compass and square, columns of the Temple of Solomon, the Eye of Providence, the sun and moon, stars, the Master's throne, and the temple with its colonnade. The glass is adorned with a decorative frieze at the top, in the form of a snake biting its own tail.
