Jan Świderski (Grodziec 1913 - 2004 Kraków) Polish artist, creator and art theorist. He studied in the years 1930–1938, in the State School of Decorative Arts of the Artistic Industry in Poznań, and then from the Academy of Fine Arts - Faculty of Painting in Krakow. He was vice-rector and rector, running a painting studio at the same time. In 1968, he took over the Department of Painting and Drawing at the newly opened Faculty of Graphics, leading it until his retirement in 1984. He was an educator of many artists of European and world format. He was a laureate of awards and numerous Grand Prix in Poland and abroad. He has participated in over 170 national and international exhibitions and open-air events.
