Alexander Nikolaus Borsow (the Livorian Governoratea 1854 - 1895 Riga) - he was a Baltic landscape painter. After the first painting lessons in Riga, Borsow went to Düsseldorf in 1878, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts until 1884. His teachers were: Hugo Crola, Heinrich Lauenstein, Peter Janssen Senior, and especially Eugen Dücker, who instilled in Borsow painting landscapes. He opened his art studio in Düsseldorf, but he had an individual exhibition in Riga, in 1888.
