Stefan Suberlak (Piotrowice Śląskie 1928- 1994 Katowice) painter, graphic artist. From 1948 he studied at the Katowice Branch of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 1952, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Faculty of Graphics in Katowice, in the studio of Aleksander Rak. From 1964, he was an honorary member of the Accademia Fiorentina delle Arti del Disegno in Florence. Member of the "Realists" group. He practiced graphic arts, among others lithography, linocut, woodcut and drawing, book illustration, painting. His works are in many Polish museums and collections abroad, including: at the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, at the National Museums in Gdańsk, Kielce, Kraków, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław, as well as, among others, Silesian Museum in Katowice. Winner of many awards and distinctions, presented in over 30 exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
