Stanisław Jankowski (1876 - 1948) - a Polish artist, he graduated from a folk school in Stryj and began studying painting probably in Kraków at the Academy of Fine Arts, which he interrupted after his father's death. From 1899 he taught a drawing in Przemyśl, where he led a lively organizational and educational activity in Sokole, People's School, TPN. He was a member of the conservation committee at the Przemyśl Museum. From 1920, he worked as a school inspector in Janów Lubelski, initiating the construction of new schools and folk houses, organizing village centers and amateur theaters. In the years 1930-41 he lived in Chyrow, where he conducted folklore studies. He wrote articles, columns, reviews and novels to the Przemyśl press. In Przemyśl, he set up a magazine for public school teachers entitled "Polish Teacher". In 1941 he returned to Przemyśl, where he taught at a vocational school and conducted secret teaching. He exhibited in Przemyśl in 1909 (exhibition organized in the Circle of the People's School), in Lviv in 1913, 1914 and 1929, and after 1930 he also had individual exhibitions of works in Chyrow and Lviv. His works are in the National Museum of Przemyśl Land ("Stodoła" 1913, "Portret męski" 1919, "Mountain Landscape", "Portrait of Kościuszko", "Ruins of the Castle" 1932) and private collections of prof. . Tadeusz Dobrowolski in Przemyśl ("Pnie pines", "Lipowica", "Spring Landscape", "Lato", "Autumn view on San"). His work is probably also a painting from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow. "Portrait of Władysław Konowicz, commander of insurgents 1863".
