Orelski, born Dmitro Potoroka (1897 - 1962), studied at the School of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. He adopted the nickname Orelski from the name of his estate Orele near Kaunas in Lithuania. He painted mainly landscapes, rarely genre scenes.
