Michał Maksymilian Rekucki (Nowy Targ 1884 - 1971 Kraków) – Polish painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under Józef Mehoffer and Wojciech Weiss. After graduation he traveled in Europe. During World War I he returned to Krakow , he served in the Austrian army, was captured by Russians and was deported to Siberia. After serving a seven-year sentence, he lived in Krasnoyarsk, returning to Nowy Targ in 1921. In 1924, he left for the United States, living initially in Chicago, and then in Pennsylvania. He painted portraits, landscapes, genre scenes and also created sculptures. In 1959 he moved to Krakow, and lived here to death.
