Marian Szulc (1922-1996) - painter, stage designer, photographer. In the years 1941-1943 studied in Kunstgewerbeschule in Cracow. In 1945 took a stage design course at the Studio at the Old Theater in Cracow under professor Pronaszko. In the years 1945-1949 and 1951-1952 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He was a member of the Art Club and exhibited at the First Modern Art Exhibition in Cracow. During the war he became involved with Tadeusz Kantor's underground theater and the Group of Young Visual Artists. In the years 1950 - 1968 he was an assistant at Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the department of stage design. The best period of his art career was in 1956-1960. He exhibited among others in Cracow, Sopot, Warsaw, Yugoslavia, Norway, Sweden, Moscow, Paris. His works are in museums in Cracow, Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Radom, Chełm and Toruń.
