Maria Wąsowska (1931 - 1993) A graphic artist, she specialized primarily in linocuts. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, graduating in 1953. Her most important awards include: a distinction in the international competition "Nicolaus Copernicus and His Thought" (1971), second prize at the maritime exhibition in Malmö, an award at the Xylon VI International Exhibition in Geneva (1972), and a medal from the city of Clermont-Ferrand (1977). She was a member of the Toruń Group and the Xylon International Association of Woodcut Printmakers in Switzerland.
