Marek Dzienkiewicz (born in 1951 in Warsaw) professor of Fine Arts. From 1969 to 1974, he studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Tadeusz Dominik (graduating with distinction in 1974), and additionally in the Studio of Classical Weaving Techniques of Prof. Mieczysław Szymański and Prof. Zbigniew Gostomski (textile annex). From 1975 to 2021, he led studios in several faculties of the Academy in Warsaw. He is the author of twenty-five separate cycles/series of works, which differed significantly in formal assumptions, scale, and the type of materials used. In 2023, the artist received the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. Marek Dzienkiewicz has participated in dozens of individual and group exhibitions, as well as in artistic exchanges with other countries. His works can be found in museums across Poland, including: in the National Museum in Warsaw, the collections of the Zachęta National Gallery of Art and the Studio Gallery in Warsaw, as well as in galleries and private collections in Poland and abroad.
