Janusz Mulak (born 1939) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studios of painting of professors Jacek Sempolinski and Bohdan Urbanowicz as well in the studio of architecture of professor Romuald Gutt. He won an honorable mention at the world competition for fine arts academy students, organized by Gramercy Park in New York. He received a diploma with distinction, and then Janusz Mulak's diploma work was awarded the first prize at the national Competition for graduates of the arts academies in Poland. Mulak has exhibited his paintings in numerous collective and one man show exhibitions in: Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Heidelberg, Warsaw, New York, Stockholm, Prague, Dallas, Copenhagen. His interests also include environmental projects, performances and video installations.
