Janina Nowotnowa (Tarnów1881 – 1963 Kraków) was a Polish painter and printmaker. She began her artistic studies under Professor Skoczylas and subsequently completed courses in printmaking and woodcut techniques. In 1902, she married Julian Nowotny and moved to Lviv. She became active in the local art scene, belonging to the Association of Women Painters and the Association of Lwów Graphic Artists. Her work encompassed oil painting and watercolor, as well as printmaking techniques such as woodcut, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, and aquatint. Her works are held in collections including the National Museums in Warsaw, Kraków, and Wrocław; the Ossolineum in Wrocław; and the libraries of Nicolaus Copernicus University and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.
