Jan Karmański (Warszawa 1887 - 1958 Puławy) –Polish painter. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and was a student of Konrad Krzyżanowski and Ferdynand Ruszczyc. In 1913–1914 he lived in Paris. From 1924 he settled permanently in Kazimierz Dolny and belonged to the Society of Friends of Kazimierz, founded by local artists, with which he exhibited his works. In 1956, he joined the Kazimierz Group, founded by Zenon Kononowicz. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His work consists primarily of landscapes of Kazimierz, painted with broad strokes of color and inspired by the work of Cezanne. He is buried in the cemetery in Kazimierz Dolny.
