Irena Gerard de Festenburg (Lviv 1915 - 1998 Cracow) - in the years 1945-1950 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studios of: Fryderyk Pautsch, Karol Frycz, Wacław Taranczewski. She worked as a restorer in many churches for example in: Skierniewice (1947), Wojnicz (1945), Brzeg (1968), Kielce (1950-51) Lublin (1968). She made polychromos in churches in Cracow, Ryczów, Trześnia. She was a member of the group “Encouragement”, a club of Seascape painters and watercolorists. She used oil paints, pastels, and watercolors. She also made graphics, especially lithography. She shows her works in over 100 exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her paintings are in many private collections in Poland and also in museums in Vatican City, Bologna and Alabama.
