Eugeniusz Arct (Odessa 1889 - 1974 Warsaw) – Polish painter, graphic artist and lecturer. Since 1918 he studied in Kunstgewerbeschule in Lucerne. He continued education at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Tadeusz Pruszkowski. He graduated in 1930 and worked at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Warsaw as an assistant, in 1950 he received the title of professor. He mostly painted still lifes and landscapes from the vicinity of Kazimierz Dolny and Szczawnica, and after 1945 the main theme became Warsaw and its urban landscape. The presented places are shown in colour, with quivering contours, which can be boldly described as very close to impressionism.
