A Beautiful Rare 19th Century fine french gilt bronze and blue porcelain center dish. The bronze double handled and footed centerpiece features a signed hand painted porcelain bowl. The scene depicts a young man with a young woman at the lake and is surrounded by floral designs.

Edmé Samson (Paris 1810 - 1891 Paris), founder of the ceramics firm Samson, Edmé et Cie (commonly known as Samson Ceramics), was a famous copyist (and perhaps forger) of porcelain and pottery.
The manufacture nationale de Sèvres is one of the principal European porcelain manufactories. It is located in Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, France. The manufactory was continuously part of the political order, first royal, then imperial and finally national. Continuously in operation, the manufactory has been creating objects since 1740. Its production is still largely based around the creation of contemporary objects today.
