Roman Bratkowski (1869 - 1954) – Polish painter, landscapist. In the years 1888-1890 he studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of Feliks Szynalewskieg, Izydor Jabłoński and Władysław Łuszczkiewicz. At the Vienna Academy he studied in the atelier of Christian Griepenkerl and Alfred Eisenmenger. In 1894-1896 at private school Anton Ažbé in Munich. Untill 1919 he lived in Lviv, where he was paining teacher in the Stanisław Batowski school, since 1912 he was a professor at the Free Academy of Art. He participed at the exhibitions in Lviv, Cracow and Warsaw. In the interwar years he lived in Italy, was a manager of Jan Styka Museum in Capri. He painted mainly charming landscaped with sensitive lighting.
